Carla Perez named as Latinas Unidas board member


Carla Perez has recently been appointed as a Latinas Unidas board member.

Perez, a Rochester native, graduated from the SUNY Buffalo Law School with a Juris Doctor degree in May, and said she is eager to serve the community through Latinas Unidas.

In addition, Perez obtained her Bachelor of Science, Magna Cum Laude, from Syracuse University, where she minored in Child and Family Studies, Forensic Science and Psychology.

She has also received the Irma Almirall-Padamsee La Fuerza Community Enhancement Award, which recognizes exemplary individuals for their outstanding contributions and commitment to diversity, organization officials stated.

Perez’ legal and community work experience includes advocacy, social research and direct client services.

She will be filling a vacant seat on the board until December 2015, when she will have the option of renewing her board membership. Perez had also been a 2014 Latinas Unidas Scholarship Recipient.
