The Puerto Rican Parade of Rochester, Puerto Rican Festival Merge Creating a Stronger, Unified Celebration
We are thrilled to announce that the beloved Puerto Rican Parade will be merging with the Puerto Rican Festival, creating a unified and even more vibrant celebration of our culture and heritage. As a result of this transition, this year's event will be a celebration of Represent Your Town, where the community is invited to come together to showcase the unique spirit and pride of their hometowns.
This merger aims to bring our community closer together, fostering a sense of unity and shared pride in our Puerto Rican roots. Participants are encouraged to bring their hometown spirit, showcasing the diversity and richness of Puerto Rican culture from different regions.
"This is an exciting time for our community as we come together to celebrate our shared heritage in a new and dynamic way," said Orlando Ortiz, President of the Puerto Rican Festival. "By merging the parade with the festival, we are creating an experience that highlights the unity and diversity of our culture. We are thrilled to host the 'Represent Your Town' celebration this year and are eagerly planning for the return of the traditional parade in 2025."
"The merger of the Puerto Rican Parade with the Puerto Rican Festival brings together the best of both events, creating a stronger and more unified celebration of our heritage. This collaboration allows us to more efficiently utilize resources and provides an even more dynamic and inclusive event for our community," said Yolanda Quiñones-Culver, President of the Puerto Rican Parade. "We are confident that this year's celebration will be a memorable experience for all, and we look forward to sharing this with our community this year and beyond."
